Voluntary product standards
The Industrial Decarbonisation Strategy published by HM Government in March 2021, states: ‘Voluntary product standards establish a recommended specification for a particular aspect of a product. Manufacturers can choose whether to meet this standard. Those that do receive certification which demonstrates to consumers the unique quality or value the product has, which differs from others on the market.’
